Why?! Duplicating playlists.

Why?! For several months now, every time I make a change to a playlist (add or delete songs), then when I sync my iPod Touch to my iTunes on my iMac - it duplicates the playlist. The iPod then has the new one with the change and also the old one before the change now with a 1 after the title. Anyone else having this problem?😕

iPod touch (6th generation), iOS 10.2.1, 128 GB

Hey Cosmic Rocker,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I see that you are having trouble with the playlists on your iPod touch. Specifically, if you change any playlists in iTunes, you wind up with a duplicated playlist on your iPod. I'm happy to help!

Before getting started with any troubleshooting, I would encourage you to first create a backup fo your iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support .

Once you have your backup, the first suggestion I can make to troubleshoot would be to turn off syncing with your iPod touch. You can get instructions on how to do that under the "Turn off syncing in iTunes" section here: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support .

Once you've completely turned syncing off, restart your iPhone ( Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support ) and your iMac (by clicking the Apple  menu and choosing "Restart..." from the drop down).

Once both devices are back on, set up and run a new sync, with only your most recent playlist(s) selected.

Cheers!
