Apple thinks the MacBook Pro registered in iCloud is new device 300 miles away
My 2015 MacBook Pro is running High Sierra 10.13.1
Recently it wouldn't let me upgrade my Kindle App, and tried to force me to log in to the app store using an old Apple ID I no longer use. The App is registered to my current Apple ID.
I tried logging in to iCloud to see if there were settings I needed to change, but it told me someone was trying to log in with a new device 300 miles away. This has happened before when I tried logging in, but I couldn't see how to change it.
I have two questions.
1. How can I get Apple to recognize that the mac from which I'm logging in (and which shows on my devices in iCloud) is NOT 300 miles away, and is not a new device?
2. How can I update my Kindle App from the App store by using my current Apple ID?
Thanks.
