Canon Printer Driver Updates every day since 11/11/2017

I have a Canon PIXMA MX490. I wiped my SSD on 11/11/2017and reinstalled everything from scratch. Not from backups or Time Machine. I went to Canon USA and had their server look at my iMac and install the most current software, that according to Canon Support is totally compatible with High Sierra 13.1.

Despite that the App Store has installed the same update everyday since then. The App Store Support people blame it on Canon and Canon says talk to Apple. Round and round no resolution. 10 minutes ago I deleted every item of Canon's, all of the prefs, apps, plists, containers, cookies etc. and reinstalled the software again. 5 minutes later the App Store said that the software needed to be updated again with the same update that it has been forcing on me since 111/11/2017. Canon again asserts that the correct software has been installed and that there is NO update to be had!

Does anyone have an idea how to stop this activity?

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), macOS High Sierra (10.13.1)

Do you have the App Storte preferences set to automatically install updates? If so then disable it. I have the Canon update 3.4 in my Available Updates section but just ignore it when I go to the App Store.

I don't have updates set to be automatically installed because of potential application and hardware incompatibilities that could arise.
