Mac does not sync with iCloud

I am using a MacBook 12'' for work and have uploaded all my stuff to iCloud, but strangely my home Mac (27") sees the files I uploaded from there, but it does not see the changes I have made since I use the work files (even more concerning - it does see the files I uploaded 2 weeksago, but none of the changes since then). Anybody got an idea what the trouble is there?

- I checked on iCloud.com, everything correct there.

- I am logged in and connected to the internet, etc.
