How change the MTU to 1460 or something

my google chrome and safari isnt exactly working and can someone tell me how to change my MTU to 1460 or something

Open system preferences , click on network ( open the padlock by entering the admin name and password ) .

Click on advanced > Hardware > click on drop down arrows of configure and choose as manually .

Again click on drop down arrows of MTU and select as standard 1500 or custom .

For broad band connections configuration is Automatically and MTU is kept as Standard 1500 .
