If you are using Tracfone you need to enter the IMEI in the BYOD checker to see if it is eligible.
Should you have the phone already that is easy to do.
If you do not have the phone yet, take a look at the Tracfone forum below. Somebody there will almost certainly know the answer.
Thanks!!!!! I looked at everymac earlier but not sure if I understand the differentiation between family types.
"Configurations upgraded on March 21, 2017, with 32 GB and 128 GB of storage, are MP7U2LL/A and MP7Y2LL/A, respectively, in silver, unlocked, and SIM free. The same models in Space Gray, Gold, and Rose Gold are MP7T2LL/A and MP7X2LL/A; MP7V2LL/A and MP802LL/A; and MP7W2LL/A and MP812LL/A, respectively.
The 32 GB and 128 GB configurations sold on AT&T in silver are MP8C2LL/A and MP942LL/A; in Space Gray are MP8A2LL/A and MP932LL/A; in Gold are MP8D2LL/A and MP952LL/A; and in Rose Gold are MP8E2LL/A and MP962LL/A."
From the above clipping this looks like an open network unit suitable for my plan to use this with the TRACFONE network BYOP obtaining a nano SIM card from them but doing some due diligence before purchasing. Hate to learn something else after the purchase!!!.
Thanks once again. Haven't completed the purchase & the iPhone is in a factory sealed box so I will check the forum.
Technically the phone can work.
You would have to check with Verizon if it will take it under its BYOD program.
If Verizon will not, a Verizon MVNO (for instance RedPocket, or PagePlus might).
