apple tv 4k unseen by xcode

I am a senior software engineer. I purchased Apple TV 4k this evening. As you know, it does not have a USB port, so it is unable to interface with my Macbook Pro via cable. I'm seemingly unable to get Apple TV to be seen in the devices section of XCode. I am unsure how to go about this, as it won't detect it, no matter what I do. Both devices are on the exact same network, and all IP's match. I'm able to use the new Apple TV 4k with AirPlay without issue. I can use my iPhone to AirPlay to it as well. It CAN be seen. It is simply not getting seen by XCode. I've updated Apple TV 4k to the latest firmware. My Macbook Pro runs High Sierra and is up to date. There are no updates I can find for either device beyond what I have installed. The final bit of information I can share, is that when I first got it earlier this evening, it was seen by XCode briefly, right before I did the update of Apple TV 4k (standard operating procedure) to the latest firmware. I don't know if the firmware is the issue, or what it is. I have since tried turning off the laptop, unplugging the Apple TV 4k box, unplugging my router, and modem, and turning them all on, and this does not alter the outcome either. I have run out of options, and my searches via search engine have not returned any results. Please advise.
