Sometime in the past week the sync between Calendar and Google is showing a triangle warning sign. Yet it looks like events are being updated.
How do I figure out why I see the warning symbol? Is there an error log somewhere? What else would/should I check?

I ran into this same issue. Here's what I did to fix it:
1) pull up Calendar
2) goto Accounts
3) highlight the "Google" account
- once highlighted, uncheck "Calendars" to the right
- your Google events will disappear on your Calendar (don't be alarmed)
4) now re-check "Calendars"
- your Google events will appear
5) the blinking triangle warning icon will now be gone
This fixed it for me.
