iphone x unlocked with at&t carrier works in india

i mean if i buy iphone x on full payment or contract free but the carrier is at&t so will it work in india coz someone is telling me only verizon and sprint carrier phones work in india

You can only buy the T-Mobile version unlocked from the Apple Store but it is also the hardest one to purchase at this time.
