How to access APFS Formatted External Drive in OS X El Capitan?

Hi


I have some important data in an external drive formatted in APFS and I want to access this data in OS X El Capitan. I don't have Mac OS High Sierra machine available. What should I do please help!

There is nothing in El Capitan that can cope with the APFS filesystem. If you had the drive mounted on HIgh Sierra, then you could use the File Sharing option to "serve" those drive contents to El Capitan as an SMB mount point, since AppleShare is not available with APFS drives.


By itself, El Capitan regards your APFS drive as a paperweight.
