I use iCloud music library to share my music across all devices. Just wondering how does home sharing differ to iCloud music library. Is iCloud music library a new version of home sharing or is home sharing more used for if Your family use the same id but with a different library to pull their songs into your own library

Right, iCloud music library is specific to that
- Home Sharing shares iTunes content such as music and videos across devices (up to five)
If they have a library prior to home sharing, that would be under their Apple ID.
However, once you are all on the same Apple ID, it should be fine

So in short pretty similar services one uses iCloud one uses wifi but if ur using icml no need home sharing. Correct
I think a difference worth noting is icloud music library works with Apple music, in order to play it....iCloud music must have a player to output music from the music library.
Home sharing doesn't require that but you don't have the freedom you have with icml and Apple music

Ok cool. So am I correct to say that that if your using iCloud music library u don’t need home sharing as icml does what home sharing does just in any location not just your home
Cool. So am I also right in saying if my brother or another family member had their own library I could legally take stuff from their library and put it in my own so long as that family member uses the same id as me. Please correct me if I’m wrong
I personally don't see a need to use it; however, a family may when at home or a person who wants to go from room to room with devices playing may want to use it, for example.
It's definitely a personal preference
Yeah that’s cool. Thanks a lot for the help do you see for the recently added section in iTunes i and other users have noticed that all our songs appearing here even songs that are from years ago and were not recently added but on iOS it just shows recent songs but Mac it shows every song added not just recents any idea why

That’s cool thanks. So am I correct to say they’re very similar features just one shares via iCloud and the other shares via internet connection
Thanks and am I also correct to say iCloud music library is strictly limited to music whereas home sharing is more than just music sharing
And to clarify if we all use the same id for iTunes but have different libraries I can take stuff from theirs using home sharing

I don't see a need for Home Sharing myself, not in my situation....iCloud is aces for me 😉
