Please help. Apple Watch with iCloud lock on it.

I recently bought a apple watch of off craigslist. The owner that i meet up with showed me the watch working then reseted it. When I got home and try to connect it, it had a iCloud lock on it. I believe the person i bought it from was the owner because he showed it to me working with the apps being able to use. I tried contacting him via the craigslist email but he never responded. I just thought he wasn't checking it because he doesn't have a reason to. Can I send a email to him via iCloud on the watch.
