Been waiting too long for this to show up on my previous Apple TV. My new Samsung TV has the Amazon app. Apple announced an Amazon App for the Apple TV 4K. I bought it because of that announcement. Where is it? Buyers remorse is setting in quickly! 😠Get it done already Apple!!!

The only work around I've found so far is to get the Amazon app in iOS for iPhone or in my case iPad. Then stream amazon from my iPad to my Apple tv by using Airplay. Seems like a convoluted way to do things but it's the only way I've figured out so far to get amazon on the big screen. Made me wonder if Amazon and Apple were having problems with each other until I did get that amazon app for iPad. I mean netflix hulu no problem but amazon....come on man!
Please understand this is not under Apple’s control. Amazon is the sole reason there is no app yet. Amazon promised an app for the AppleTV ‘later this year.’ Amazon has dragged its feet over this for a couple of years now. Amazon even went so far as to ban the sale of the AppleTV on their website, probably because of competition with their Fire streaming products. There’s obviously some backroom shenanigans goin on between Amazon and Apple. My personal guess is that we won’t see an Amazon app for the AppleTV until after the Christmas buying season.
So if you want to rant at somebody, rant at Amazon for playing games with Apple.
There is another relatively inexpensive solution. Last year I bought an Amazon Fire Stick for $25 during Black Friday. Checking Amazon’s website just now I find it on sale for the same price today, $24.99.
