Brightness control missing from control panel

(I think it’s called the control panel—When you swipe up or double-click the home button, the menu that comes up).

there used to be an option to turn the brightness up/down and turn night shift on/off, but it’s suddenly missing. I went to my settings and tried to customize my control panel, but I dont see an option to add the brightness control.

Below is a picthre of my control panel. You can see the empty spot where the brightness once was

Hi,

I was still able to adjust the brightness in Setting > Display & Brightness; it was just missing from the control panel.

My battery was not fully charged, but I restarted my iPad and the brightness option in the control panel was suddenly back.

Thanks!
