I appear to have asked a wrong question earlier but can't find it. Anyway I was having trouble with a rogue search engine called searchffr.com and after some searching found Malware Tips whiech explains how this Malware can be removed but I am loathe to go further before finding out if this site is trustworthy or not.

No. The best app to go for is Malwarebytes which was developed by a member of this community. I briefly scanned Malware tips and spotted links to dodgy apps and aids.

My post above recommends a program you can trust, Malwarebytes. The link will take you to it providing you are running 10.11 El Capitan or later. Please confirm exactly which OS and what machine you are running. Your profile says iOS 7.0.4. That cannot be on an iMac.
