Will my Apple TV automatically get updated to the Apple TV 4K? Or do I have to buy the new Apple TV 4K?

Hi there, I have the series 2 Apple TV, if that’s the right term for it but I’d like to know if I need to buy a new Apple TV 4K for my 4K television or do I get an automatic upgrade to the Apple TV that I already own.

You'll need to purchase the 4K Apple TV to get that functionality, it requires different parts than what are in your Apple TV. An update won't give you 4K access.
