Time Machine Restore stuck on searching for disks

Hello,

Last night I was promoted to update to Mac OS High Sierra. My MacBook Pro has not been right since! I have received the message that the disk is locked, not sure what that means. I also tried to restore my MacBook from my Time Machine and cannot get past the ‘searching for disks’ screen for hours now. I have restarted my MacBook numerous times and have tried to repair and erase from disk utility, however my erase button is greater out completely. I’m so frustrated and truly do not know what I can do to fix this issue :( I am not able to sign in to my computer, I am prompted with the High Sierra update which dead ends at the disk is locked screen. And none of my options seem to be working in the recovery mode screen. Please help!!!!!

Thank you!

Jessica

High Sierra completely screwed up my laptop. I never was able to restore my MacBook from my Time Machine since I could not get past the 'searching for disks' screen. At one point, my computer would only start up in safe mode. I did speak with an Apple tech support supervisor prior to taking my laptop to a tech, they had me completely erase my hard drive. I'm not sure if you have an external hard drive or some type of back-up, but that was the only thing that saved my pictures, documents, and important downloads! Best of luck to you!
