Black screen flicker on Apple TV 4K

Mine is not a question but a solution. After making adjustments to my Apple TV 4K I suddenly developed a black screen flicker on all functions. Occurring at a variable frequency but decidedly annoying. I run a Sony XBR-75X850B TV thru a Yamaha RX-V683 w/ 4K pass-thru. All things working well at 4K HDR 60 Hz until, I adjusted the “Chroma” settInf. At 4:2:0 everything was fine. Then I adjusted to 4:2:2 and the trouble began. I saw intermittent black screens interrupting air streaming content. This occurred with Apple-checked HDMI cables & an Apple TV check saying the Chroma change was OK. The black screen interruption was incredibly annoying. I tried on-off, reboot w/ unplug, reboot from the menu, & factory reset (yes I did). Nothing worked, I considered calling Apple & returning the unit. Then I remembered the ”Chroma” change i’d made. I then went back to 4:2:0 and the problem resolved. Apparently the Apple software OK is not enough. I hope this will help you avoid the 2 weeks of disgust I suffered. Good luck.
