Convert Giga files to EXS ?

I'm having trouble converting .gig files to exs format. As per the instructions under the EXS24/Options Menu/Giga Convert, I copied the files into the Sampler Instruments folder. They are supposed to show up in the EXS menu afer a refresh but they do not. Any thoughts?

Hey Mac,

Just to confirm...

The sampler instruments (which have an .exs extension) are what go into the Sampler Instruments folder. Another method is to keep your instruments stored in a different location, but to then create an alias of the folder and move the alias into the Sampler Instruments folder. Either method should work.

No, what you are doing is correct, you do move the GIG files to the Sampler Instruments directory, they then show up in the EXS menu so you can select them, and on the first select, the EXS converts the GIG files to EXS+sample files.

If they are not showing up, are you sure you are copying them to the correct directory?

I should have searched deeper for other forum posts. Apparently the .gig file names were too long, once I shortened them they showed up fine!
