"This iCloud backup includes purchases from the App Store that were made with a different Apple ID."

Hi,

When setting up my new iPhone, I am getting the above error / message.

The Apple ID / email shown with the message is my old email. I had changed my Apple ID to a new email two or three years ago. I still have access to the old email address and still have my password for the "old Apple ID" (i.e., the last password prior to changing the associated email).

When entering the old password (the last for the old email / Apple ID), it shows the password as wrong.

When entering the current password (for the new email / Apple IDF), it shows the passwords as wrong.

When clicking on forgot password and entering the old email / Apple ID, it does not find the old email / Apple ID.

When clicking on forgot Apple ID and searching by first name, last name and (old) email, it does not find the old email / Apple ID.

What else could I do? (It is unclear to me, why some apps are not associated with my current email / AppleID, as I never had two Apple IDs, I just changed the email address assosciated with it) Any other thoughts?

Cheers

iPhone X, iOS 11.1

If you are positive you did a name change and didn't create a new Apple ID, I think I would start by contacting Apple ID Support to try to straighten out the apparent two Apple IDs when there should only be one. That should also correct the non-existent old Apple ID problem. If that can be fixed, then ask to have your purchases consolidated under the current Apple ID. In many cases this can't be done, but I have read a few posts where eventually the purchases were consolidated. You may need to politely ask for level 2 support to get this done.

there is a contact link.
