Turning Instagram to landscape on iPad

I know how to turn to landscape or portrait, but for some reason I can only see Instagram in portrait mode. To use the app on my ipad, I have to take it out of its keyboard case, and use the virtual keyboard. Really clunky and inconvenient. Is there any way of forcing the app to go landscape? It doesn’t matter what I have the ipad set to, the app seems to have a default portrait setting that I can’t get around. Thanks.

While the Instagram app itself does not provide an option for landscape mode, you can access your account by simply logging into it at Instagram.com in your Safari browser. Everything there is accessible in landscape mode. Looks like the only functionality that’s missing is the ability to view and send messages.

Note: To add a photo via the browser, or to add to your story, you do have to temporarily turn the iPad back to portrait mode. Also, I did not check to see if any of the story filters or other bells and whistles were available in the browser version of IG.

Hope this helps.

Not possible. Instagram is designed for portrait mode only, and iPhone layout only.

It works on an iPad, but there's no way to get landscape mode on any device.

You may want to contact the Instagram developers and suggest landscape mode to them.

The Report a Problem option in your profile page in the app should let you offer generic feedback to them.
