Failure to boot after battery replacement (MacBook Pro 2012 Retina)
Hello! Unfortunately I seem to have a battery install that has gone south. Here is my story.
I choose to replace my MacBook battery with an iFixit Solution. All went well. I worked to drain the battery after the install by watching a movie. I then went to bed, letting it drain further. I awoke and unfortunately found that it went to sleep at 14% battery left. That is not what I intended. I forgot to adjust the sleep time to never. So I plugged it in, adjusted the sleep time to never and then unplugged it. I'm not sure the exact next few moves of mind (in terms of unplugging/trying to start), but basically, in short order, it went to sleep on me when it should not have. Now it will not power up. With no power cord, it doesn't even try. With a power cord attached it has a faint repeating sound of fans trying to start up. You almost have to have your ears close to the machine to hear it. But it is there. This seems to happen on its own when plugging in the power cord, no need to press power button. funny thing is when I push and hold the power button the frequency of the "startup Noises" increases. I have performed the smc reset. I have opened it back up, disconnected the battery for a few minutes.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
