Is it safe to scan a document on iPhone apps

Are scanning apps such as Tinny scanner safe to use when handling documents with sensitive information?

As long as they don't auto-upload somewhere or something you don't want to happen, sure. There are tons of scanning apps, and most will just store the image on your phone unless you enable online sync'ing or change some such setting.


Turbotax and others even have apps to scan your tax information and auto-fill forms for filing. Adobe makes a scanner app for signing PDF forms. If you trust the developer and what they claim about the app, scanner apps should be fine.


If you don't trust the developer or don't like the defaults and terms of use for the app, then find an alternative.
