Will I be able to stick an o2 sim to Apple Watch series 3...

Ive got apple wath series 3 gps and celler only EE supports Apple Watch, so when o2 support Apple Watch would I just be able to put an o2 sim to it, even though EE Is the only network that supports it

Will I be able to stick an o2 sim to Apple Watch series 3 when o2 starts providing for Apple Watch even though EE is the only provider that support them at the minute?

Hi

Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) is not locked to any specific carrier and has a built-in eSIM (it does not require you to insert a SIM card) that copies information from the paired iPhone's SIM card.

The built-in cellular features require a carrier plan for your iPhone that specifically includes support for the Apple Watch, including the carrier activating the watch on the plan:

Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple

If you do not wish to sign up with EE at present, then you cannot currently use the built-in cellular feature with another UK network.

However, Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) can still be paired, set up and used for other features whilst skipping the steps to activate cellular. The cellular feature can then be enabled later, if and when you are using a compatible service plan on your iPhone that includes support for the watch (whether from EE or another UK carrier in due course).

If you would prefer to use O2, then you may wish to contact them and ask about their plans and/or monitor this page for further carriers being added over time:

Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple
