Having trouble deleting single entries in History.

I used to be able to simply highlight and hit delete key for any single entry in History. Now it's very messed up. I can use this method for some recent entries, but not all, and particularly any entry more than one day old. I've also tried hold Control, click, choose Delete from drop down menu - I click Delete and nothing. Is this another High Sierra issue? Thanks for any help.

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), Safari 11.0.1

Backup your Mac.

Quit Safari.

Close all windows and quit all applications.

Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.

Library will appear between “Home” and “Computer” entries in the dropdown.

Select "Library" from the dropdown.

Click the “List” view button in the Finder toolbar.

Move these files to trash and test.

1. Click open the Caches folder and scroll down the list.

You can click on drop down arrow and choose the desired one say " today and yesterday ".

User uploaded file

And if you want some items to be deleted from a group and not all of them , take cursor on top menu bar > History > Show All History , hold shift key and tap the items one by one to get selected they will be highlighted and selected , click on remove button or right click the portion and click on delete .

Thanks again, but I know about this feature. Again, what I want to do is clear a few individual items older than two days. I used to be able to do that easily by just highlighting the items and hitting Delete, but since upgrading to High Sierra (it seems to me) I can't do that anymore. Your suggestion would clear all items in History after one week or two weeks, etc, per the drop down menu.
