How to disable update for one app

I have a sound mixing app that works fine on my old iPad. Today I got a notification to update it but when I touch "Update" I get a message that the newer version will not work on my iPad so it doesn't update. That's fine, but how do I turn that notification off? I don't want to keep being reminded to update it when the update isn't compatible. Thank you.
