My iPhone 7 suddenly started to restart by itself.

This is some random bug/glitch on some random iPhone. My phone's OK while my wife's got the 'disease'. Terrible glitch. Hope Apple will immediately fix this, whatever it is.

Also, phone keeps heating up and battery drains like crazy

Yep, I did this and it seems to work.

Also the clock app is now working again. Not perfect but at least a temporal solution till Apple fixes this bug.

Me too. I have about 30 seconds before it turns off. Not enough time to do anything.

Tried this, doesn't work.

Well, it works for about an hour or so, then the clock app crashes and it starts all over again.

I have been wondering if this is a case where iphone's time is just a bit off and it starts to reset to adjust for the difference.

If you're having trouble installing iOS 11.2, try these steps:

"Best viable workaround is to turn off third-party notifications. If you’re not sure which apps employ local, repeating notifications, turn them all off."

I'm sure Apple will release an official fix soon.

"If you cannot disable your notifications, then temporarily roll back your date and time to 1 week ago, this will enable you to disable your notifications and then you can return to the current date and time without glitches."

Also

• Disable Background App Refresh (Settings > General)
• Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings (use as last resort, or just wait for a fix and play outside)
