When in fullscreen watching videos, the screen flickers black and purple

For a while now, whenever I watch any video on fullscreen the screen will flicker black lines or just fade to black completely for a second. It used to be tolerable, but I've started to notice that it's gotten more frequent. Purple lines have also started to show up when I go into fullscreen; one time, it recently just froze my entire computer and purple lines were just filling the screen while I was watching Twitch on fullscreen. I had to to a restart because of it.

Hi iNyxus,

It appears that while watching videos in fullscreen mode that your screen will flicker with black lines or fade to black and now purple lines are also occurring. It seems you have to restart because of it. Being able to watch videos without issue is important. Let's see what we can do.

Have you tried to see if this issue also occurs when the video being played is not in fullscreen mode?

What I'd like to have you do is to force close the app(s) that you are using to watch the videos in and then restart the MacBook Pro.

How to force an app to quit

How to turn your Mac on or off

If the issue persists after that, please do an NVRAM and SMC reset and then test.

How to reset NVRAM on your Mac

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

Let me know how things go and if this also occurs when not in fullscreen mode and we'll go from there.

Kind Regards.
