How do I update the ios in my ipad A1219?

I own a 2010 ipad, capacity 64 gb, model a1219, standard sim, wi-fi + 3g and would like to update it to the most up-to-date ios so I can learning games for my grandson. There are not many that we can download. Thank you.

That is the first generation iPad and it cannot be updated beyond iOS 5.1.1.

Make sure the iPad is online so it can access the store.

Open the Settings app, tap General, then tap Software update.

Any new updates will be listed there. If your device is up to date then no updates will be shown.


The iPad is around 7 years old & only supports iOS 5, so most modern apps cannot be installed. Sorry, Apple & third party developers do not support older devices. You'll need a newer more powerful device to use new apps.
