flash drive for iPhone 7

Hello community,

I have seen ads for new flash drives from SanDisc and PNY that allow the user to download content from an iPhone lightning port and transfer it via usb to another storage, thus freeing up space on the iPhone.

I read one review that poo poos the product saying that it will not work for IOS 11; that IOS 11 uses HEIC files rather than JPEG files and the flash drive will not recognize the new format. Is this true?

Any help appreciated here, thanks

Hi there,

iOS 11 does have the capability for HEIF which saves space as well. It appears you can choose your format however.

This explains it much better than I can 🙂:

Hi there,

So....you got me thinking and I also had a client inquiring about a flash drive that incorporated the ability to transfer from Mobile to pc/Mac & vice versa.

It appears there are some really strong ones out by PnY.

For example, one that caught my attention:

***However, check the compatibility:
