iTunes is involuntarily nightcore-ing my music

Hello,

A few months ago, my iTunes began having a very strange error; within about 5 minutes of playing music, it would begin to speed up songs, skipping parts. At first it's not very noticeable, but it speeds up over time and within a minute (at most) it is running through songs in seconds, often not even long enough for audio to start playing. This occurs with both the files on my computer and the previews of songs on the store, and is an issue that has persisted through multiple updates to the program. Any device I add my files to does not have the same issue, so I am hesitant to believe it is anything other than the iTunes software itself.

It's getting really annoying to have to rely on Youtube just to be able to hear music I've paid for at an audible speed. If anyone's had the same issue or has an idea of what may have caused it, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.
