lock screen music location

On my iPhone 8, if I click the side button while listening to music, the music shows as an "alert" box on the screen and it's located towards the bottom of the screen. On my iPhone 6s, the music would show on my lock screen as a full display with the buttons located towards the top of the screen. It was easy while I was driving to hit the Fast Forward button to change a song without looking at my phone. Now, since the music is randomly located towards the middle/bottom of the screen, it's hard to locate the fast forward button while driving. I'm not one to have my phone out while I'm driving, or to look at my phone while I'm driving except to hit fast forward on my music to skip a song. With the new location of the music, I'm finding it nearly impossible to find the fast forward button while the phone is locked, without looking at it.

Is there a way to customize where the music shows up on the lock screen? Can I set it up how it used to be?

Now it's like this and it's hard to find the buttons without looking at the screen.
