App Store unable to associate purchase with microsoft account

I’ve had a subscription to Microsoft word for many months now. Recently, I have been signed out and unable to sign back in. When I attempt to, an error message pops up saying “purchase has been successful but we are unable to associate purchase with your Microsoft account”. It seems to be an issue on the app store’s end.
