iPhone X wireless charging stops working

I have an iPhone X and have been using the wireless charging for a few weeks now with no issues. Over the weekend, when I got up in the morning, I noticed that my phone had not fully charged overnight. When I set it back on the Qi charger, it would not charge. I tried my wife's charger and it would not charge either. I turned the phone off and back on and it started working. This keeps happening. After a while of being on the wireless charger it stops working and has to be power cycled to work again.

Not seeing anything like this in a web search. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue.

Running current software, which had an update to the wireless charging for 'fast charge.' Wondering if it broke something.

Thanks

Jim

Hello,

I may have found the solution to this, it worked for me anyway. Both of the iQ chargers I bought were delivered without power adapters, so I just grabbed one from my iPad or iPhone and plugged it in, this is when I experienced the same issues here in this post. I then looked at the instructions of the iQ charger for the recommended power it needed to supply it, the second iQ charger I bought needed a 2.1 amp input. So I used an older iPad power adapter that was close to that (2amps) and since I have been using this it has worked fine.

I hope this is the same issue for you all and you get sorted. I know how frustrating this is.

Hi Jim,

I have the exact same problem. At first I thought it was the charger I was using, so I changed it, but now the same thing is happening again on a different Qi charger I bought. It works fine for a week or so and then stops working. This is very frustrating as this is not the only problem I am having with this phone. I remember the good old days when Apple products just worked. I am hoping if enough people complain they will come up with a patch soon.

Hi

My iPhone X is showing the same symptoms. First time the reset helped but this time it just won’t charge so I dug out a normal charging cable. Both times it happened after I had it in a docking station to play music at work. I might take it to the shop if it still doesn’t work toni
