How to change the language that is used to show locations in Photos for Mac

How can I change the language that is used to show locations in the Photos for Mac. My app started to show some locations in Finnish. I removed Finnish from the list of preferred languages but this had no effect.

Thank you. It seems that this issue is related to language settings. When I moved English to the primary language position and turned 'Summarize photos' off and on in the preferences of the Photos app, then after some time the locations were turned back into English. It appears that just removing Finnish was not sufficient.

In my case 'Reverting to original location' was greyed out because I always assign GPS locations to images before I import them to the Photos library.

The locations database is hosted on Apple's servers. Photos is sending a query to this database, when it is trying to add location information to the photos.

Try to revert the assigned location to the original for the photo in question.

When I assigned the location you are showing in your screenshot "Ylä-ltävalta" and look up the GPS coordinates of the photo, I get 48.1168929 13.6225287.

When I use this command in Photos "Bild > Ort > Ursprünglichen Ort wiederherstellen", and then enter the GPS coordinates 48.1168929 13.622528 into the location field, Photos will now show "⁨Ottmann am Hausruck⁩, ⁨Upper Austria⁩, ⁨Austria⁩" instead of "Ylä-ltävalta"
