I purchased a iPhone 8 last week - it has IOS 11.2 loaded. Ever since I upgraded to the iPhone 8 I has intermittent loss of Bluetooth connection with my car radio. My previous iPhone 7 did not have any Bluetooth issues.
If I reboot the phone and power off/on the radio I can eventually restore the connection. Do you think this is an IOS 11.2 issue or an iPhone 8 problem?

If you're using Bluetooth
- Check your car stereo's user manual for how to pair with a Bluetooth device.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
- Restart your iOS device.
- On your iOS device, unpair your car stereo. On your car's display, unpair your iOS device and any other devices. Restart your car and your iOS device, then pair and connect again.
- Update your iOS device.
- Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
- If you still can't connect, contact Apple Support.
let's try to reconnect your iPhone with your car radio as a new connection. Before reconnecting your car radio, you ensure that you have already disconnect the old car radio connection so that you can create a new connection. Hope that help

I’m having the same issue. I can actually finish a convo via a BT headset and as soon as my 8 switches back to music it starts playing from the phones speakers. WT*?!?!??
I have to reboot my phone on a semi regular basis (every other day at least) to get it to play music over the headset.
IMHO, it isn’t a hardware issue, it’s a software issue. It’s as though iOS can’t handle more than 2 BT handshakes at a time. A 3rd completely mucks it all up (in my case Apple Watch, Car BT and BT headphones.)
The iPhone 8s Bluetooth problems are an absolute mess. It connects to my new Honda 2017 CRV then drops and won’t reconnect. It won’t connect to my new JBL headphones at all. Both the car and headphones connect to my iPad and IPhone. 6 no problem.
So my new iPhone8 is a brick. I travel four hours day and can’t talk on the phone or listen to music? Forget it. The phone is a brick. I’m really surprised the national press hasn’t picked up on this problem. I see lots of on-line comments about the same problem. $ 700 useless brick.
I’ve been having Bluetooth connectivity as well. I had the iPhone 6, and all of a sudden it was losing connection, would never connect with my car Bluetooth. I upgraded to iPhone 8 plus and I’m still having connectivity issues in my car (not connecting), and occasionally losing connnection with other devices even when they’re within range. I keep hoping this will be fixed with every iOS upgrade, but no such luck.
I got a new iPhone in late November and have read everything and tried everything to get it to pair with my Mercedes GL450. I was able to pair my iPhone6 on the first try several years ago and was happily talking hands free until I “upgraded” to the iPhone8. It’s so frustrating & disappointing. Please don’t reply with the basic Bluetooth pairing instructions - been there, done that. I need some actual help.
sigh,i faced the same issues...just get the iphone 8plus 2days ago and noticed the bluetooth is not working!!!!WTH....before this using iphone 6s never happen this kind of issues.please fix the ISO and solve the problem. thanks
Same issue here. Got a new iPhone 8 yesterday. When going to settings-bluetooth not a single device is listed although several can be seen on the iPhone 6s.
Would expect Apple to provide a solution soon!
Has there been any update to this topic. My iPhone 8+ pairs to my Sat Nav but drops out and is unusable. Car manufacture says it’s Apples issue. Can someone from Apple confirm that they are looking into all these complaints.
Just adding my comments since I am having Bluetooth issues with a plantronics and Bose headsets. Connection issues with my cars Bluetooth as well. Having been trying to work with Apple support ... by 2nd call all I got was attitude of the support rep. iPhone 8 is turning to be the worst iPhone I had, had to switch from iPhone 6 as it had become terribly slow but that just with any phones. Didn’t have these Bluetooth issues with 6
Seems like there are a lot of us having this issue! Can’t believe since 2017 when you posted this that there hasn’t been a fix!
We’ve upgraded to the 8 as well (in Feb 2018) and are having the same problems. My phone won’t connect to my QX60 and I keep loosing connection to my Apple Watch. Never had problems with the 6s and we are VERY dissapointed in this costly “upgrade”!
