Can I mix DDR3 and DDR3L Ram on a Late 2015 27" Retina iMac?

Mac's are very picky and use specific RAM modules.
Your best bet is to order RAM upgrades from vendors like OWC or Crucial, that actually specialize and test there modules in Mac's.
If you ordered what Crucial recommended for your iMac model, then you can simply add it to your system by placing it into the empty slots.
Thanks and yes, I have actually ordered from Crucial. My issue is that the Mac came with 8GB of DDR3 on board and I the Crucial recommended update is DDR3L. I'm sure the Crucial Ram will be fine if I use it on it's own but will it work happily with the DDR3. In other words.........will I need to discard the original RAM?
Ram from Crucial should work fine along side your original ram. Crucial is one of the two most trusred ram vendors for Macs.
