IOS 11 Sony bluetooth speaker pairing problem

I have two newer Sony bluetooth speakers (SRS-XB10 and SRS-HG1) bought within a year that I cannot pair with either Ipad mini 2 or Iphone 8 plus that have IOS 11. I was able to previously pair them with IOS10 with the mini and my previous Iphone 7 plus. I have also hard paperclip reset both speakers to no avail. I keep hoping that there is something with one of the IOS updates, but I dont even see this issue being discussed much online. Thanks for any input or assistance.

OMG....Stupidity on my part. The resolution is with the speaker itself. On both models I needed hold down the pairing button longer (for like 3 seconds) for the speaker to recognize the new device.
