The search in settings not working properly for ios 11.2 in iphone x

hello everyone!

Last night, i've setup my iphone x restoring the backup (of my iphone7) through icloud. Everything went well and then i tried to do a search in the setting (eg. typed "location") , nothing shows up even after typing "loc". Apparently it only searches apps but not all apps would appear in the results (for eg. Spark app didn't appear in the results). When i keyed in "mob", it shows the apps with "mob" but no settings of mobile data etc.

I've tried looking into Siri & Search, everything's enabled. Is it because it is still indexing?

Please advise on this.

this has been solved after contacting Live Chat with Apple support just about 2hours ago.

It is solved by resetting the settings of the phone. So now i'll go on and redo all the settings to the usual!

Great question

Mine took a while to get used to what I was typing/texting in - in settings, text, or anywhere much like Siri learns our voice better; the more we prompt it and it gets used to it

However, I also noticed connection played a part in my situation

Even now, when I search (I use ios and android and tested both), sometimes nothing will appear; other times I get immediate results

It sounds like this might be applicable to you as well; however, if it persists, I would contact Apple Support and speak with a tech

With the sticky motion involved, I would call into support.

I've not experienced anything like that, I don't believe.

I would check in & see what they proprose...best to have it taken care of now before it snow balls into something else ~

Hi there, last night I've done a restoration on the phone and the issue for that "sticky motion" is solved.

Right now, it is still that search within Settings is not working properly (ie unable to search any of the specific settings of the phone)

Will contact apple support on monday probably.

hi there! Thank you for the response!

I do hope it'll be ok in a few days or so.

And somehow the interface for settings is abit "sticky". When sliding from the left to go back to the previous menu , it's not as smooth as my iphone7. For example i slide halfway thru the screen, the "page" should slide to the right smoothly.

Not sure if it's ios11.2 issue or phone issue.
