locked itunes folder

Recently updated iTunes and now get this message: "The folder “iTunes” is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder." Have changed permissions but still get message. Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2016, 4 TBT3), macOS High Sierra (10.13.1)
