Recently updated iTunes and now get this message: "The folder “iTunes” is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder." Have changed permissions but still get message. Any suggestions?

You haven't mentioned anything about using an external drive so I haven't posted solutions dealing with those.
This message may sometimes indicate a corrupt preference rather than an issue with the folder itself. It may be worth trying the option-start-iTunes method to actively select the .itl file that should contain your library.
