Rotating globe when starting my 2015 airbook

Hi Everyone,

I bought a 2015 MacBook Air for my daughter for Christmas from a third party. So, I decided to restore it to factory settings, and now I have an issue. What I ended up doing, I think I may have hit the wrong thing. I first got the box with a ? Mark which did not go away. So, I then I restarted it and pushed the command & r button and then got the spinning globe. It did hook up to wifi, but that is the farthest ive gotten. I'm stuck here.

is there someone who knows what has happened, and can you help me restore it. I hope being what I thought was right, did not damage the laptop. Thanks so much

MacBook Air, iOS 10.3.3
