Pages document. I want a border. No Inspector button in the toolbar.

This is an 8? year old mac desktop computer. OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5. It uses Pages for word-processing. I need to put a border on a document but there is no Inspector button on this old toolbar. All the Help suggests using Inspector. What do I do instead?

What version of Pages? (Pages menu > About Pages)

What style of border?

Example:

User uploaded file

Pages 5.6.2

Grey bars at sides and thin line at bottom show edges of the page. Top edge is at position of top ends of grey bars.

"Border" is a Square 'shape' from the Shapes button menu.

In the Inspector, the shape was set to Stay on Page, Wrap was set to none, Fill was set to No Fill, and Border was set to Line, solid line, 5 pt weight, and the colour shown.

The shape was resized to lie just outside the Header and Footer boxes, and to leave a small space outside the text on the sides, then centred left and right.

It was then moved to the Section Master so that it would appear on every page.

Barry
