New apple pencil paired with new ipad pro 10.5. Does not appear in notifications. No way to know the charging time.

I just bought an apple pencil and an ipad pro 10.5 with IOS 11.2

I've tried repeatedly to see the pencil on the notification panel to see the charging time, but it's impossible, although it is paired. I have restarted the Ipad. No luck. I've seen many people have the same issue. What is going on here?

I had a similar question when I got my pencil. It does not show how long to charge, but will show you the percentage it is charged in notifications. The Bluetooth has to be on with the pencil paired. They say 5 min charge will give you 2 hours, though I have not tested that. You have to have battery widget on in the notification. Hope this helps.
