Hi Michael. I actually just got off the phone with Apple support. But to answer your question. I changed my work passcode last night. One thing should not have had anything to do with Apple. However, I certainly was being asked to change my passcode on my homescreen to access my Ipad. The rep was following my screen and once I went back into my work app and updated the passcode then the rep said updating my Apple passcode should fix things. I did update my passcode them immediately changed it again. I'm hoping this is legit. She said years ago Apple did require login passcodes to be updated but not recently. I think I should change it one more time. I am scared of identity theft after the Equifax fiasco.
Why am I receiving a passcode expiration pop up on my Ipad?

Neither the screen lock nor the AppleID password ever expire. Is this a password for some other account - a company email perhaps?
If you have a work exchange account or MDM profile on your device, yes, they can enforce password timeouts. Including screen lock passcodes. But that has nothing to do with Apple.
