create new apple id and transfer data

I currently share an Apple ID but want to create a separate one as sharing one has become problematic with contacts etc being shared. I understand I cannot transfer purchases to a new Apple ID but can I transfer data?

Most of your data should remain on the device. If you have Optimize selected for photos, you will lose your photos. Consider setting up Family Sharing.
