how do i delete photos on my iphone that is imported from mac?

i can't delete the photos imported from mac on my iPhone... and I've tried to unsync the photo gallery on my iTunes... but it says the unsync failed (didn't mention the reason though)
it's taking a lot of memory on my iPhone!! i wonder if u guys have any suggestions on how to delete these imported photos on the phone apart from syncing iTunes??? thanks!!!
