how do I work out the age of my mac book pro

Hi,

I have a MacBookPro:

Model - A1278

For which I need to replace Hard disk and Battery

At the moment the laptop does not turn on.

This is my question:

• I'm looking to but the replacement parts on internet but I don't know how to identify the age of the laptop. Mine should be a 2009 but I don't know if early or late 2009. How do I work it out and does it make a difference (some sellers specify mid 2009 or late 2009 etc.)? If so you can you advice which are the right HD and battery to buy?

Thank you.

1. Find the Serial Number.

On the surface of your MacBook Pro

Close your MacBook Pro and turn it over.

The serial number is on the underside of the computer, near the regulatory markings.

2. Enter the serial number in the search box on this page.

Because there are 12 MacBook and MacBook Pro models that match the A1278 model number, you may wish to lookup yours

by Model ID or Serial Number for greater precision.”
