High sierra

I downloaded an update for high sierrra yesterday, since then my computer goes round in circles - trying to start from the apple with the line gradually going across to my password page, an page telling my computer has a problem and going back to the apple and line again. I have restart, closed down my computer and started it up again and closed it down and left it over night. But the same thing is still happening. What can I do? Please help.

Thank for your help. Over the last 2days I have done both of these things several times but it has not improved it at all. I have also done a - left shif, cmd and alt and power button. That did not help either and I tried to do first aid and that failed, so rather stumped. I have tried to copy the report but the machine is not on long enough to do it.

Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks

I would boot using command-r and reinstall HS.
