Apple watch series 2 crashes every few minutes

Yesterday my Apple watch would go to the Apple logo screen every few minutes. It started by doing that a few times through the morning but nothing really noticeable. By the evening it was happening about every 5 minutes. This morning when I was trying to do a workout I noticed it was also freezing the activity app and wasn't recording the actual time I was exercising. It also went about an hour before it even recognized that I had moved even though I had been exercising for more than 30 minutes.

I did update the watch software last night to 4.2 but the crashes were occurring before that. As I put the watch on the charger I only had 21% battery life which is far lower than normal. I always charge it back to 90% or more and wear overnight. This morning the battery was at 58% I normally lose 10% or less overnight.

Hi

It is certainly not normal for your Apple Watch to restart unexpectedly.

Whilst I can't say why that has been happening, the following steps may help to stop if from happening again (check performance after each before moving on to the next):

Close all apps and restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch (normally):

Unpair and re-pair your watch:

Remove apps and watch face complications:

If the issue then persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (remote diagnostics and/or mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider for assistance:
