MacBook Pro 2011GPU fault

This is a helpful post (I hope) for those in or accessible to the UK. Now that Apple no longer supplies logic board replacements for this machine (dreadful customer support isn't it?) users of this otherwise excellent machine may like to know that I've found a repairer in Hay-on-Wye, Ian Williams of Haytek, who replaces with new genuine original chip using leaded solder and does a general clean up for around £200. I had actually visited his shop in Hay for a replacement iPad screen so I can confirm he's genuine, knowledgeable and efficient. You can find him on eBay at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Apple-Macbook-Pro-A1286-820-2915-A-15-2011-Logic-Board -Repair-New-GPU-Reball/291122531359_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao% 3D1%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3Df8921f1406c74dfeb3f53f2cb310d21b%26pid%3D100 677%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D22%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D172786781880&_trksid=p2385738.c10067 7.m4598 or at info@haytek.co.uk
